Marchers to assemble in Curtis Park between Dumaresq St. and Dumaresq Creek at 09:45. Some scouts will be needed to carry identification placards for the various groups in the parade. Scouts Armidale also has a group position in the parade (following the Red Cross and before the SES according to the plan I have).
The parade commences at 10:30 and will move South (uphill) along Faulkner Street to Central Park. The commemoration service will commence at 11:00 in Central Park and the scout group will be laying a wreath. This year our wreath has been made by our group secretary (thank you Sarah!). The service will conclude by 12:00 and this will also be the end of the scout activity.
Scouts will be assembled as a group near the cenotaph to be picked up. From 12:00 there will be a BBQ in Central Park, a static military equipment display, the town band and pipe band will be playing and there will be a variety of activities for children. The RSL is encouraging families to stick around and enjoy this part of the day. Please note that leaders will not be providing supervision for scouts during the Central Park activities that occur after the formal ceremonies end at noon. The activity coordinator and another leader or adult will remain with scouts near the cenotaph until all have been returned to parents. In the event of wet weather, there is a wet weather plan to hold the ceremonies in the auditorium of the Ex-Services Club.
Uniform: Please wear your scout shirt and scarf. Cream or bone pants if you have them. If not, please wear blue jeans or navy blue pants. Please wear black or brown shoes and wear a wide brim hat.
Any questions please contact the Group Leader, Mark Shepheard: email@example.com or phone details on the form.

Congratulations to cub-scout Alexandra Shepheard who was presented with her Grey Wolf Award this week during a ceremony at the Armidale Scout Shed in Taylor Street. Regional Commissioner Cub-Scouts, Christine McCurly travelled from Tamworth to present the award on Tuesday evening in Armidale. Pictured below is Alexandra (centre) holding the North-West Region Grey Wolf Award honour roll, with Armidale Cub Scout leader Mel Pearson (right) and Armidale Group Leader Mark Shepheard (left). Further below Alexandra cuts the Grey Wolf cake as hungry cubs look on. The cake was made and decorated by our Group Secretary Sarah Murray.
The Cuboomerang Camp will again be held at the Lynchwood Scout Camp near Tamworth. This a spectacular campsite and well worth the visit. The camp is being held from 9.30am on Saturday 28 Feb to 3pm on Sunday 1 March 2014. The camp cost is $45. The deadline for registration (E1) form and payment back to Akela Mel is the cub pack meeting on 10 Feb. Participation in this camp enables cubs to do activities toward their boomerang badges (bronze, silver or gold). Come along and see your cub leaders undertake some truely horrible campfire singing!
Akela Mel has E-mailed registration forms with camp details to all cub parents.
A reminder that for scouts to attend this event; the money and the E1 form must be returned to Chil (Scout Leader) BEFORE the troop meeting next week (4 Feb 2015). This is to allow for the registrations and payment to be sent to our region Office in Tamworth by the closing date.
What is it? The Region Scout Rally is a weekend camp for all scouts in the North West NSW Region
When is it? From 5.30pm on Friday 6 March to 1.30pm Sunday 8 March 2015. BUT THE CLOSING DATE IS NEXT WEEK.
The scout leader has E-mailed details and a registration (E1) form to scout parents. Please contact Chil for further information and to arrange handover of forms and money for those going.
After the summer break the Scout Shed is in need of a clean up before we commence for 2015.
Leaders, parents, committee members, youth and supporters are invited to attend this event on Sunday 1 Feb 2015, 10am to 1pm. Please come for the whole time or part thereof as you are able.
